In general rule, gevrey-chambertin shows a pretty color ruby, lively and brilliant.
One notes the beautiful "legs" on the partition of the glass. The flavors are fruity and typical intensément of this name: wild ripe, black cherry.
Flavors of wooded are fine and subtly married. The evolution in bottles brings more complexity to the nose, spicier grades of nutmeg and leather before evoking mushroom scents.
Wine Spectator 90 points - A meaty, earth- and spice-filled version, shading the juicy cherry and plum notes. Underscored by a vibrant, solid structure but lingers nicely on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2024. 700 cases imported.

Vinous 87 points - (includes 30% premier cru juice): Healthy medium red. Good lift but a slight greenness to the aromas of cherry, licorice and spicy herbs. Sappy and fresh on the palate, showing good ripeness and considerable early sex appeal to the sexy black fruit, spice, licorice and earth flavors. Finishes with dusty tannins and pleasing energy.
