Subtle, characteristic bouquet with an oaky note. Full yet refined, without the slightest heaviness and with the liveliness typical of Les Genevrieres. A voluptuous wine. Good ageing potential.
Vinous 91 points - Pale, bright yellow. Sexy, musky aromas of stone fruits, apple, buttery lees and nutty oak. Sweet, plush and easygoing, with stone fruit flavors accented by oak spices. This round, ripe Meursault has sound supporting structure.  (Sep 2015)

Wine Advocate 89 points - The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has a candied nose and, just like Les Gouttes d’Or, there is a distinctive licorice/anis scent that is a little distracting. The palate is better with sour lemon and a touch of white peach on the entry mixed with praline and hazelnut, finishing with a spicy note that lingers nicely. Fine. (Dec 2014)

Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Pere & Fils, is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, perpetuating tradition for over 280 years and 9 generations. In 1775, Joseph Bouchard acquired his first vineyards in Volnay in the famous “Les Caillerets” climat and started to develop the family’s vineyard holdings. During the French Revolution, property belonging to the clergy and nobility was confiscated and put up for sale. Joseph’s son, Antoine Philibert Joseph Bouchard, seized the opportunity to extend the family’s vineyard holdings in Beaune including the famous “Beaune Greves Vigne de l’Enfant Jesus.” This desire to build up an exceptional estate in Cote d’Or endured through the generations and acquisitions in the best Villages were added throughout the 19th century and again in the early 20th century.
