Dark color. Exploding aromas of black currant and cherries when young, turn to truffle and leather
when aged. Solid structure with firm and elegant tannins and a lively acidity.
Wine Advocate 92 points - Now in bottle, the 2012 Corton Rognet Grand Cru is fulfilling its promise in barrel. The aromatics are consistent with its performance before bottling, the palate achieving perhaps an even higher degree of finesse and composure as that nascent chewiness appears to have dissipated. This delicious Corton Rognet should give much pleasure over the next ten years or more. Drink now-2025+.
Wine Spectator 94 points - A gorgeous nose of black cherry, blackberry, violet and spice heralds this suave, tangy red. Concentrated and vibrant, this pulses through the lingering aftertaste, presenting dark fruit, mineral and toasty, spicy accents. Best from 2018 through 2032. From France.-B.S. (Jun 17 2015)
