Wine Advocate 92 points - A similar technique was used for the 2013 Chardonnay Green Acres Vineyard from Carneros. This small cuvee seems to have a more buttery edge to it, with more honeysuckle, orange oil and tangerine notes. It is slightly more tropical, but again restrained, with good acidity and a subtle, deft use of new oak. This is a beautiful Chardonnay from the owners and winemakers, Kenneth and Laura Juhasz. The last Chardonnay was my favorite.  (Dec 2015)

Wine maker notes
An exclusive 3 barrel blend, from the first vineyard the Sangiacomo family planted in 1969. Green Acres is situated in the cool coastal appellation of Carneros and benefits from rocky, well-drained soils and signature afternoon winds. Our Green Acres Chardonnay shows off its broad, rich texture, a natural gift from Old Wente, which contrasts with its minerality and a provoking acidity. With over three generations of viticulture expertise, we are proud to announce our alliance with the Sangiacomo Family.

Kenneth Juhasz and his wife and partner Laura are proprietors of this boutique label, concentrating on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Growing up in North Carolina, Juhasz paid his way through college working in fine restaurants and at a local wine retailer. He first developed his winemaking talents in Oregon's Willamette Valley working with veteran winemaker Ken Bernards of Ancien Wines . He also spent time in the Central Otago region of New Zealand's South Island helping to launch Hinton Estate. In 2002 he settled in Carneros as the winemaker for both the Robert Stemmler label and The Donum Estate. The focus of Auteur is on vineyard designated wines from cool microclimates in Oregon and California. Juhasz's winemaking philosophy is "to maintain the dualism between the varietals' masculine and feminine character." Grapes are currently sourced from the Willamette Valley (Shea Vineyard), Sonoma Coast (Durrell), Los Carneros and Mendocino Ridge.
