The nose reveals ripe black fruits, accompanied by spicy notes.
Full, with elegant tannins which give very structured wine. Black fruits and spicy aromas.
Wine Advocate 91 points - Tasted blind at the annual ”Burgfest” tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chenes from Chateau de Meursualt was showing just a touch of reduction on the nose, but not as acute as other offenders and there is plenty of attractive redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit underneath, plus fine delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a lightly spiced entry, harmonious and poised with a structured, marine-tinged finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is very fine - bravo!
