Buy Carpineto Brunello di Montalcino
Color: intense ruby red, with pale pomegranate highlights. Bouquet: decisive, fine, broad and lingering with hints of vanilla, cherry, raspberry, and licorice. Flavor: dry, warm, smooth, well-textured and lingering on the palate.
Wine Spectator 89 points - Aromas of basil, juniper, rosemary and wet earth combine with sweet berry flavors and a smooth profile in this powerful red. Pulls up short on the finish, but this lingers with spice and briar elements. Drink now through 2024. 500 cases made. -BS  (Oct 31 2015)

Wine maker notes
Brunello is a term used by locals to refer to the dark brown color of the grapes at harvest. Carpineto’s single vineyard Brunello di Montalcino possesses a complex bouquet of nuts and spice, accented by hints of vanilla, cherry, and raspberry. Aged in Slavonian oak barrels for three years and cellared in bottle for 6 months, this wine offers a warm, smooth finish. A wine which will reward extensive cellaring.

Food pairing
great wine with roasts, grilled meats, wild game, and elaborate dishes, as well as rare T-bone steaks. It can also be served alone, as a “reflection” wine.

Founded in 1967, Carpineto is a partnership between Giovanni C. Sacchet and Antonio M. Zaccheo, whose original mission was to produce a world-class red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation. This was a radical departure from the marketplace of the times when most Chianti was still produced in the traditional winemaking style. Carpineto’s visionary founders recognized the untapped potential of the Tuscan landscape to produce truly great wines. By applying modern viticulture and winemaking techniques, they dramatically exceeded the quality standards of the day. Under their leadership, Carpineto developed an award winning, international reputation for elegant wines of approachable intensity and extract, as well as consistency vintage after vintage. Today Carpineto has reinforced these characteristics, while maintaining an approachable wine style due in part to an extensive bottle-aging program. In fact ”riserva” wines are bottle-aged a total of six to twelve months longer than the minimum time required by DOCG appellation rules. Today experimentation goes hand in hand with the spirit of innovation of the founders, with respect for historical Tuscan values. The product line includes wines from the most prestigious Tuscan DOCG appellations to varietal specific wines of great structure, as well as innovative proprietary blends. Carpineto exports the majority of its wine production to over 70 countries worldwide. About 95% of Carpineto’s wine production is red wine, with the majority being wines that are aged three or more years before their release date.
