Adjacent to the Clos Saint-Jacques, this is a finely structured yet full bodied premier cru, marked by ripe, generous berry and dark stone fruits offset by nuances of earth and tobacco set in a firm tannic structure.
Vinous 92 points - Bright, dark red. Soil-driven aromas of framboise, menthol, coffee and mint. Plush, full and sweet but given shape by harmonious sappy acidity; this tastes like another vintage! The tangy red fruit flavors are not yet particularly complex but the wine’s stony energy and grip and its substantial ripe tannins and superb length suggest that it will age beautifully. Leaves behind a sweet flavor of maraschino cherry.
