Vinous 91 points - (still a bit of malic acidity remaining): Bright light yellow. Yellow peach, butter and a whiff of brioche from the remaining malic acidity. Fat, rich and intense on entry, then much tighter in the mid-palate, showing a distinctly penetrating quality to its pineapple and crushed stone flavors. Youthfully austere today, with an extract-rich, palate-dusting finish. These vines were picked first in 2013, on September 25.
91-94 Points (Sep 2014)
In the 15 Year Pepsi VS Coke Challenge Kosher Gift Set you decide between two 750ML bottles of very good scotch.
1. Glenfiddich 15 year old - "Full and fragrant with delicate honey and vanilla notes, fruit and gentle spice".
2. Glenlivet 15 year old - The nose is fruity, sweet, and (not surprisingly) oaky. Palate continues similarly with strong wood flavor and sweetness. A little bitterness comes through. Finish is medium length.
|Vincent Girardin was born in Santenay, in the Cote de Beaune and is part of a winemaking family whose origins date to the 17th century (11th generation). Now in his forties, Vincent began in 1982 with only 2 hectares (5 acres) of vines. When his father retired, Vincent took over several additional hectares to which he could devote himself.
