Passa is sourced from the schistous Passadouro and Sibia vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro. The grape varieties used are Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Franca, with vines up to 60 years old. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged in second- and third-passage French oak for 18 months.
Quinta do Passadouro is located on the left bank of the Pinhao River in the Douro Valley. The estate is co-owned by the Bohrmann family and Jorge Serodio Borges, whose family has been in the Port wine business for years. As a testament to his pedigree in the industry, Jorge also serves as director and head winemaker.
