Buy Alain Voge Cornas Les Chailles
Vinous 90 points - (made entirely from fruit grown in Chaillot): Youthful purple. Primary dark berry and floral scents show very good clarity and hints of succulent herbs and licorice. Velvety and seamless in texture, offering juicy black raspberry and violet flavors that pick up a spicy nuance with air. A bitter chocolate note appears on the clinging finish, which is framed by fine-grained, sneaky tannins. 90-92 Points (Feb 2015)

Wine maker notes
Our Cornas « Les Chailles » comes from a parcel of Syrah grapes, with an average of 20 years old, on granitic terraces bordering a calcareous hill. This proximity gave particular siliceous concretions called "Les Chailles” and a very particular taste to the wine.

Food pairing
It will go well with all grilled red meats and pork products (especially form the Ardèche !).

With over 70 parcels of vines totaling seven hectares, it is no wonder that Alain Voge sometimes seems distracted. Half in jest, he says that the reason he harvests so late is to figure out which vines are his. Lovably comic yet humble, honest, dedicated to his domaine, and incredibly hardworking, Alain Voge and his wife Elaine have been estate-bottling Cornas since the mid-1950s. In spite of producing what most critics, Parker and the Wine Spectator included, call some of the finest wines in the world, the Voges remain the kind of people one wishes one had for grandparents.
