Intense ruby red colour. Fruity bouquet with red berry notes. Very well structured, mellow, long-lasting flavour with smooth, velvety tannins
Vinous 89 points - Il Poggione’s 2014 Rosso di Montalcino is classy, polished and refined. Sweet tobacco, licorice, smoke and dark spices add layers of nuance to a core of silky dark fruit in a perfumed, slender Rosso that will drink well for the next handful of years. This is one of the better 2014 Rossos I have tasted so far. The 2014 was aged mostly in cask, with the addition of around 20% French oak.
