James Suckling 94 points - A delicious red with balance and finesse and so much complexity and beauty for the vintage. Full body, fine tannins and a chocolate, mineral and ripe-fruit aftertaste. Very refined. Drink or hold.
Wine Spectator 93 points - Eucalyptus, wild herb, cherry, strawberry and mineral aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this distinctive red. Elegant and supple, offering a firm structure. Best from 2018 through 2030.-B.S. (Mar 23 2016)
The best expression of sangiovese, produced only across
the better vintages, it is named after the “La Casa”
vineyard located at 275 m above sea level in the northern
area of Montalcino with South-South/East exposure and
basically loose shale-sandy soil rich in skeletal material.
Caparzo was one of the first growers to understand
the influence of the terroir.
