Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2011 Tahuan Cabernet is a floral version of Cabernet, with an array of aromas ranging from lilies to raspberry leaf, a touch of spices and sophisticated, fine-grained tannins, clean flavors and good persistence. A good Cabernet to have with food. Drink 2014-2016. (Apr 2014)
A much softer, gentler, fruitier wine that can be enjoyed when only a year or two old, a blackcurrant juice feel, a vague whiff of milk chocolate, followed up by something ever so slightly salty on the palate.
|Ernesto felt the need to produce wines that would reflect his basic beliefs: high quality, a different style from the majority of wines being made at the time, smaller volumes and a strong brand concept. In 2002, Ernesto Catena Vineyards was created to express those beliefs.
