Restaurant Wine Issue #137 & #138 4 Stars Occhio a Vento Vermentino 2009 - 4 Stars, Restaurant Wine ------------------------------------------ Supple, full bodied, and well balanced, this is a fine Vermentino, with firm acidity, and a long finish, tasting of pear, lime, roasted nut, and lemon. ------------------------------------------ Wine Spectator October 31, 2010 87 Points "Occhio a Vento" Vermentino 2009 - 87 Points & Listed Among Top Values from Tuscany, Wine Spectator ------------------------------------------ Very minerally, with good fruit and dried grapefruit character... Listed Among Top Values from Tuscany. ------------------------------------------ Wine Spectator September 30, 2010 "Occhio a Vento" Vermentino 2009 - Wine Spectator ------------------------------------------ Offers dried grapefruit, with hints of pineapple and mineral. Medium-bodied, showing good fruit. ------------------------------------------ New York Times August 19, 2009 Occhio a Vento 2007 - The New York Times ------------------------------------------ Light and crisp with aromas of flowers, lemon and herbs. Vermentino has much to offer, whether as a crisp, tangy accompaniment to seafood – fritto misto would be ideal – or as a richer, more complex wine with a distinctively oily sort of texture. ------------------------------------------ Wine & Spirits April 2007 ------------------------------------------ This nutty white has lemon-pith flavors with enough zest and freshness for pan-fried trout. ------------------------------------------

Wine maker notes
Select ripe grapes undergo cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is left to rest on its lees for 2-3 months before bottling to enhance aromatic complexity.

Technical notes
100% Vermentino

Food pairing
This aromatic and refreshing white wine is a splendid companion for spicier dishes, white meat, fish, and vegetable entrees.
