Wine Spectator 92 points - Very pure, with a gorgeous beam of bitter cherry, plum and raspberry fruit, showing a chiseled feel thanks to the racy chalk and iron notes that run from start to finish. A charcoal backdrop adds depth. Drink now through 2021. 60 cases imported.-JM  (Jun 15 2014)

Vinous 91 points - Opaque ruby. Dark berry preserves, violet and exotic spices on the highly aromatic nose. Lush and expansive in the mouth, offering energetic black and blue fruit flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. The spicy note comes back strong on the finish, where velvety tannins fold smoothly into the wine’s fruit.  (Mar 2014)

Wine Advocate 93 points - Also superb, with slightly more freshness and focus than the Francois De Tournon, but not as much richness or depth, the 2011 Saint Joseph Sainte Epine gives up beautiful, Syrah-driven aromas of violets, new leather, pepper and black raspberry that flow to a full-bodied, rich and focused wine with a superb mid-palate and juicy acidity. It’s a gorgeous 2011 that will drink nicely for over a decade. (Dec 2013)
