Vinous 89 points - (mostly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with less than 20% Petit Verdot and Malbec; aged in mostly new French oak for almost 24 months): Bright red-ruby. Sexy, deeply pitched aromas of plum, redcurrant, tobacco, mocha and cedar. Pliant and smooth in the mouth, with dominant flavors of redcurrant, tobacco leaf and mocha. Some underbrush and dried leaf notes contribute another dimension without detracting from the wine’s fruit.
