Wine Advocate 92 points - The 2008 Callejon del Crimen Malbec Gran Reserva exhibits a similar personality with loads of black cherry fruit and a sense of elegance. It, too, will evolve for several years and drink well through 2023. (Dec 2011)
Deep red with violet hues, aromas that highlights the delicate ripe red fruit with hints of mint are well harmonized with notes of vanilla and chocolate from the oak. On the palate, ripe plums and a stand good acidity with a touch of raisins and sweet tannins, round. Outstanding wine.
|Founded 60 years ago by an immigrant from Italy, our vineyards are located in what many consider to be the most desirable area for viticulture in the Uco Valley of Mendoza. Our wines are now known worldwide and have won numerous awards and high ratings. Finca La Luz has combined traditional and time proven methods with modern viticultural and winemaking practices.
From wide and bright alleys, our vineyards are located at an altitude of over 1100 metres, at the foot of the Andes Mountain range, where year after year and generation after generation, a white owl protects our vines, looking after our fruit with the tenacity of a true Vineyards Guardian.
