Chewy, robust dark stone fruit and cherry aromas with impressions of old vines, earth and leather are confirmed on this wine's palate in a broad, generous texture supported by firm, rustic tannins.
Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2012 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Clos de la Croix de Pierre has a very refined bouquet: dark berry fruit and respectable mineralite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine purity and elegant tannins. This is such a dainty Pernand and even though is lacks a little weight on the finish, this is very well crafted. I would revel in this early, soon after bottling. (Dec 2013)
