Wine Spectator 90 points - A fluid, supple red, offering aromas and flavors of cedar, black currant, cherry, leather and tobacco. This is firm and vibrant, with a dusty sensation on the finish. Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2022. 140 cases imported. -BS  (Oct 31 2014)

Wine Advocate 89 points - A blend of mostly Sangiovese with quarter parts Merlot and Cabernet, the 2010 Haiku is a super-charged expression with loads of bold fruit intensity, black cherry, prune and pressed cherry. I tasted this wine last year and gave it 87 points. With the distance of a year, the wine has shown a nice evolution, although I still found the bouquet to show less dimension than past vintages. (Oct 2014)

Founded in 1972, Castello di Ama is one of Tuscany’s preeminent estates. Situated at 1,574 feet above sea level near Gaiole-in-Chianti, this 617 acre estate is blessed with superior terroir which produces wines of finesse and elegance. Owned by the husband and wife Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti since 1982, the couple has successfully steered the estate through major renovations and improvements including a total replanting between 1982-1987, a dramatic increase in plant density to 5000/hectare, the introduction of French varieties and a major upgrade of winemaking equipment. In 2003 Marco was named Oenologist of the Year by Vini d’Italia and the couple continues to build upon their reputation for crafting benchmark Chiantis.
