Wine Spectator 88 points - There’s a meaty element to this red, along with cherry, raspberry and earth notes, all underscored by a bracing structure. Leans toward the acidity in the end. Drink now through 2018. 2,500 cases made.-BS

Vinous 89 points - The 2013 Barbera d’Alba Vignota is another gorgeous, entry-level wine from Conterno-Fantino. Dark red cherry, plum, mint, spice and leather nuances are woven together nicely in the glass. Drink this pliant, super-expressive Barbera over the next few years. The 2012 spent ten months in neutral oak.
