Wine Advocate 90 points - The 2013 Pinot Noir Evanstad Reserve is raised in barrel for 16 months using 57% new oak. It has a more complex bouquet compared to the Yamhill Cuvee with attractive raspberry and briary scents, the oak neatly integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with more red fruit than black, approaching soft(ish) tannin with a slight tinniness towards the finish that will hopefully recede with time. Enjoy this over the next 6-8 years, but don’t hesitate if you feel like keeping it in the cellar for another 12-18 months.  (Jun 2016)

Wine maker notes
Consistently excellent from vintage to vintage, our flagship wine is the defining standard by which all of our Pinot Noirs are measured. A true illustration of the art of blending, the Evenstad Reserve® Pinot Noir is a wonderfully complex wine that delivers an array of red fruits, caramel, baking spice, vanilla, dried flowers, and potpourri. On the palate, this elegant wine shows a harmonious balance of structure, richness and acidity with soft tannins and a clean, lingering finish. With clonal variation and site driven diversity, we are able to craft this wine to our precise and exacting standards year after year.

Passion and Commitment led Ken and Grace Evenstad to Oregon, more than two decades ago. Propelled by a desire to produce the world’s best Pinot Noir, they founded Domaine Serene in Dundee Hills, located in the Northern Willamette Valley, where Oregon Pinot Noir began - and where its heart remains today.
