Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2013 Tinto is an unoaked blend of 30% Touriga Franca, 30% Tinta Roriz, 30% Tinta Barroca and 10% Touriga Nacional, sourced from Real Companhia Velha’s Quintas (Aciprestes and Cidro). It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. This is a terrific deal. Showing reasonable concentration for the level and considerable pop and power, this focused Tinto is clean and fresh, with good fruit and enough of everything to hold up to food. It should hold decently, but it is certainly approachable now. It likely will not reward long aging, so don’t hesitate to dive in. There were 5,000 cases produced.
Delaforce Tinto is blend of traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca grown in the 45 year olde vine parcels of Aciprestes.
These grapes are hand harvested, fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine is matured in wooden vats and small oak barrels.
It is a very attractive wine with lush flavours and smooth structure.
