|Chateau Roustaing dates to the Middle Ages, and a monastery wall and window can clearly be seen integrated into the cellar wall. Last century, the estate was acquired by the Mazeau-Ducour family who specialized in the production of white wines. In the 1960’s when the white wine market dropped, the vineyards were replanted with red varieties, and then divided between the four Mazeau sons. The owner and winemaker is Benjamin Mazeau, the youngest of the four sons. The vineyard is located on a south facing slope in the middle of the Entre-Deux-Mers, just outside Targon, Bordeaux. Sixty one acres of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted on clay and limestone soil.
