Aromas of spices and mature red fruits. Round tannins with powerful complexity. A rich unctuous wine with notes of mature plums, hazelnuts and red fruits. Very rich wine full of harmony and balance.
I loved the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape. This big, downright sexy red offers loads of kirsch, blackberries, dried flowers and hints of licorice in a full-bodied, sweetly fruit, layered style. It has terrific purity and ripe, sweet tannin, all suggesting it will keep for 10-15 years.
An array of brambly raspberry and blueberry fruits with a gently savory thread of earth and spice. The palate has a neat mid-palate focus. Acidity sits up in smooth fruit texture.
