This award-winning Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured in three different cask types. From American Bourbon to Spanish Oloroso Sherry - and then, finally, Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks - this a rich, complex whisky with toffee and sherry flavors. Three Wood makes a cracking Auchentoshan & Ale, a mean Old Fashioned and damn fine dram in its own right. Consider an Auchentoshan whisky that's Distilled Different and choose our Three Wood Scotch.
To the Eye: Expect a rich, golden brown color in your bottle of Three Wood. What gives whisky its color? As the Single Malt matures in the quality bourbon and sherry barrels, a new and complex color and flavor profile is created over time.
To the Nose: Blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin notes are present in our Three Wood.
To the Tongue: Fruit and syrup. Hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity.
To the End: A fresh and fruity, smooth whisky with long lasting oaky sweetness.
The name of this whisky is a nod to how it s matured in three different casks: American Bourbon, Spanish oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry. It s robust, with a deep amber hue and rich caramel scent. The flavor profile shows toffee, campfire smoke and a mouthwatering butterscotch note on the exhale. It almost reads like a peated Bourbon.
